FAQs

Imports refer to the purchase of goods and services by India from other countries. These include raw materials, finished products, machinery, crude oil, electronics, gold, and even services like software and consultancy.

India imports a variety of goods and services for several reasons, including the fulfillment of crude oil and energy requirements due to insufficient domestic oil reserves, the acquisition of high-tech machinery and components, the demand for gold and precious metals driven by cultural practices and investment purposes, the procurement of raw materials needed for manufacturing processes such as chemicals and electronics, and the sourcing of services like software, research, and financial services.
